Fixing the SUSE Gray Login Screen
July 20, 2007Usually a gray login screen (XDM login screen) displays after a re-installation or repairing an installation of SUSE (or maybe corruption of KDM which requires you to reinstall it).
To fix this problem and to go back to the nice KDM login screen, login as ROOT on the current gray login screen then LEFT CLICK on the screen and select XTERM. From the terminal window type startkde to start the KDE then go to YAST then click on System ->etc/sysconfig Editor ->Desktop->Display Manager->DISPLAY MANAGER setting (as shown below). Change the setting of the DISPLAY MANAGER from XDM to KDM, then click Finish. Reboot the system and the original KDM login manager will be displayed and gray login screen will disappear. Good luck!

Felix,
May be at this time nga pala perhaps hindi kita masamahan sa contest sa isulong may be next yr, because at this time i have 3000 projects from my boss besides nasa pontevedra ako sa at wala akong connection ng internet, i believe pwedi natin silang sabayan sa seo but if i have internet connection sa location ko pwedi kitang samahan and besides at this time pwedi ka munang magtrain ng mga tao especially sa link building. If you want pag-usapan natin yan sa personal. i have 1000+ seo friendly directories, kasi matapos natin setup ang lahat ng gadgets sa site we need to submit the website. But if you want to join at this time go ka lang muna. God bless na lang.
