How to Make your Paypal Account Verified in the Philippines?!

February 8, 2008

Thank God, I finally got my PayPal account verified. It really needs a little bit patient (which sometimes I lack!). The following are the summary of events, steps and things that I did to make my Paypal account verified:

  • I applied my Paypal account last December 2007. It’s the month I started earning in blogging.
  • Second week of January, I tried to use my Paypal in Chikka.com to buy for a cellphone load. I got blocked because I was not a verified Paypal user but they asked for some id to be sent to Chikka for verification process. After a a day or two I was able to use my Paypal for a Smart load but it’s expensive. $1.00 = Php 30.00 cellphone load. Then, I decided to find way to make my Paypal account verified.
  • On the same week, I applied online for an EON Card from Unionbank. It’s the cheapest way of getting a credit/debit card that is accepted by Paypal. EON Card does not require any initial deposits and it only requires Php 350.00 annual fee. While other credit cards’ annual fee is about 1200+.
  • After a week, I received an email from Unionbank that I can claim the card so I need to go to Iloilo just to get the card. (it’s about 3 hours travel from Capiz)
  • Then I enrolled my EON Card to the Unionbank Online Banking. The site inform me that it will take 48 hours before I can access their service.
  • The next problem I encountered was my EON Card was rejected by Paypal so I look for answers from different forums and blogs and I found out that I need to deposit at least Php 100.00 because Paypal charges $1.95 (about Php81+) on the verification process. My problem then was how to deposit money to my Unionbank account. So i transfered fund through ATM using the Equitable ATM card of my friend.
  • After that I enrolled my EON Card to Paypal and it was accepted.
  • The last step of the Paypal verification process is to specify the EXPUSE (Expanded Use Number). I thought that time that I can access it through Unionbank’s Online Banking so I tried to access my EON Card account online but my problem was I can’t access my account. The Online banking site rejected my card number, so I called the customer service of Unionbank. They informed me that they’ll fixed it in 3 days.
  • The next day after I call the customer service of Unionbank, I was able to access my EON Card on their Online Banking so I checked my transaction history but I was not able to find Paypal’s EXPUSE number. So I tried to ask the customer service of Unionbank and they told me that it will take 2-3 days before Paypal’s EXPUSE will be reflected on my account. :)
  • So after 3 days (which is today) I called them again and they provided the EXPUSE number. Then, I immediately submitted it to Paypal. That’s all I got verified!

(What a long post! Hirap mag-english! Nakakahingal… Where’s my nebulizer… :) )

Where can I find the expuse number?

Para saan ba iyon?

expuse number is the expanded use number which is included on the charge description of Paypal during the verification of ur Paypal account. Via EON, u need to call their customer service and ask for the EXPUSE number.

you can find the 3 digit security no. at the back of the card, . usually written as part of your card no. found as the last 3 digits on the paper part of the card.
